Find Your Perfect Dating Site

There are literally thousands of dating sites covering hundreds of niche interests on the Internet. The big question when you are looking for a date though is which one should I use? Which site will give me the greatest benefits for my money?

The first question you should ask yourself when searching for a dating site is 'What type of person am I looking for?' This may seem like a trivial and obvious question to ask but many people fall into the trap of not knowing what they are looking for, signing up to any old site and then a month or so later finding that they are being billed for something they don't want. If you are looking for someone who is also serious about dating it probably isn't worth joining every free site you find in hope of finding your perfect partner.

The second question you should ask yourself is 'How much am I willing to pay?' Unfortunately, the best dating sites, with the largest number of members; the sites that might include your perfect match are likely to charge you. Some sites think it is reasonable to charge £30-£40 per month for membership with annual membership sometimes being over £100. There are no benefits that come from paying that much when searching for a date and there are many sites that offer the same if not better experience at a much lower cost. Sites such as these will typically charge a much more reasonable £19 or thereabouts a month and offer many hundreds of thousands of members from all over the country.

The third and final question you should ask yourself is 'what features do you really need of a site?' Due to the high number of dating websites on the web there is a lot of competition between the dating site companies. This has lead to many of the companies offering often-useless features. One such useless feature are those dating sites that offer virtual world dating experiences. It is all very well meeting people in a virtual world and having virtual dates but if you are truly serious about finding a partner, and I am guessing you are if you have read this far, do you really want your first real date to be dominated with forced conversion discussing how you made your avatar include feature hair that waves in the virtual wind. Clearly this is unlikely to lead to a full-blown relationship.

What features do you need then? Well, you are likely to want to be able to see the person you are interested in so a photos feature would be useful. You definitely want to be able to contact the person you like so any instant messaging or email system will be fine. You want to be able to fill in your details with a paragraph or two about you and your interests. Other than that the only thing required is a desire to date, flirt and meet new people... but that part is up to you.

In the modern world of online dating it is often easy to forget the simple idea of the website, that its purpose is to join two like-minded individuals together. To succeed in this dating environment don't be conned into paying £20 more a month thinking that you will definitely need a feature to send small image 'winks' at the person you like, they are unlikely to be truly flattered by such a gesture. Instead if you wish to succeed stick to the basics, meet someone, talk to them, get to know them and most of all enjoy your time together.
